“Forth Edge gives me reliable indicators when I'm feeling out of sorts, or have a dip in mood or performance. It's impossible to know if you're just imagining it sometimes, or if there is actually something awry you should pay close attention to.”
“The test is easy to administer and the results are easy to understand yourself. I've been using Forth Edge for 2 years now, and it’s invaluable when pushing your body to the limit!”
When Alice went elite in 2014, she had already amassed an impressive number of podium finishes and wins. A passion for swimming and running as a youth turned into a natural talent for triathlon, combined with athletic determination to succeed.
Her victories include three successive wins at the Volcano Triathlon in Lanzarote, wins at both the Lanzarote and Ruegen 70.3 Ironman events, the latter of which saw her clock up a course record, three wins at Israman and multiple European Championship podiums.
Alice has now made the switch to ultra running and has successfully completed events up to 100 miles. Her long-term aim is to get as fast as possible over 50 miles and 100km.
Forth Edge helps Alice manage the immense load that training (to an elite level for three different sports) places on the body, and gives her the control and confidence she needs to perform.
A. I am far from obsessed about diet usually, but I habitually choose healthy options and usually cook from scratch. Takeaway treats tend to be sushi and sashimi based! I really get strict before a race involving running though, as my stomach is ‘run delicate’! It’s been a case of trial and error over many years. Here come the rules:
- Minimal dairy
- No crusty bread (funnily enough packaged processed bread sits just fine!)
- No spice
- No fibre
- Low fat!
This starts three days before the race, getting stricter closer to the start.
So I usually choose chicken or white fish and rice the night before & maybe a glass of red wine, then breakfast being two slices of brown bread with a smattering of butter and jam and a black coffee a couple of hours before race start.
A. Chocolate and wine!
A. High energy: trance, catchy pop or rock, and things that take me back to Ibiza party holidays!
So according to my race credentials I’d be:
- Bananaman
- Iceman
- Mudman
- Wildman
- Ironman
- Israman
- Powerman
