Susie got into triathlon when she decided to join her partner in his Ironman training. Unsurprisingly, as a former competitive runner for Great Britain, she excelled at the running element, but she was also faster than her partner on the bike. At her first triathlon in 2011 – Ironman 70.3 Antwerp – she took an impressive sixth place and shortly afterwards turned professional.
Over the following years she has clocked up an impressive number of 70.3 and full Ironman podiums and taken sixth place at the Ironman World Championships in Kona twice.
Susie’s performance in 2019 was particularly strong, with a win at Ironman Hamburg at a pace that set a new course record in the process.
Training with input from Forth Edge has meant that Susie has been able to monitor her body for signs of stress or illness so she can adapt her training and nutrition to help her body recover.
